Popping up: 20th - 23rd November

Thursday

Club Mexicana is a bit like Club Tropicana; exotic, sexy and tasty, but there's no George Michael warbling around a pool and unfortunately drinks aren't free. Still, that's no reason not to visit CM, who are teaming up with Nuno Mendez protege, Adam Rawson, and bringing their delicious brand of vegan Mexican food to 119 Cafe in Clapton for a series of seven-course tasting menus. Taking place most Thursdays through to Saturdays until 14th December, the feast consists of treats like butternut squash and walnut tacos, rosemary smoked enoki mushrooms and jalapeno broth or refried beans with hibiscus molasses and saffron rice. Tickets cost £40 or £65 with wine from here.

Friday

"Big plates, big sharing, big fun" is how The Ghana Vista Social Club (nice name!) bills itself. We're in. It's a new supperclub series from the ever-excellent Zoe's Ghana Kitchen and frankly, we can't think of anything better than holing ourselves up in Hackney Wick and gorging on rice and beans, grilled tilapia, jollof chicken strippers and caramelised plantain of an evening. There'll also be live music and cocktails, tickets cost £40 from here, and the party gets started at 7pm.

The Italian Supper Club is back - and they're turning Japanese. The gang are still working on the exact dishes for their four-course Italo-Asian meal, but they say: "After a few trips to Japan and most evenings spent going out looking for the best sushi in London, we decided to pay homage to one of the greatest gastronomic empires. Four courses in a JapanItaly style and an intriguing cocktail to start the night!" Interesting...Tickets cost £35 from here, the event takes place in Stephen House on Darnley Road from 7pm. Let us know how their culinary experiment turns out, yeah?

Sunday

There's literally nothing that a rum punch can't improve. And today we're giving thanks to all things Barbados with a big Bajan lunch, courtesy of In A Pikkle. There's a three-course menu that includes blackened flying fish or chicken, Creole fish and sugar coated plantain, okra and sweet potato stirfry. Did we mention the unlimited rum punch too? Get yourselves down for the boozy lunch near Hackney Central from 1pm - 7pm (that's a lotta rum!) for just £20 and tickets are available here.
