It's the King of Gnocchi's (AKA Adalberto Battaglia) penultimate night in his A Roman In Clapton series. Now on number 13 of the 14 Thursday night feasts held upstairs at Palm 2 since September, tonight is all about the game, so play on, playa. Expect venison carpaccio, ox-tongue with chilli and garlic, pappardelle with wild boar blanquette, oxtail gnocchi and quail skewer. A real meaty treat. There's a few last tickets left here, they cost £23 or £30 with the recommended wine pairing (and we do definitely recommend it) and it all kicks off at 7pm, sharp.
It's back to Palm 2 again on Friday (they've got to be the most prolific pop-up space in Hackney, right?) - and this time, we're all about dumplings. My Neighbours The Dumplings isn't a new Ben Stiller rom-com, but instead is a weekly pop-up dumpling house. It's free to go to as it's an a la carte menu where you can choose from a selection of steamed or crispy fried dim sum and dumplings for about £5 each, including pork and prawn, shiitake mushrooms and vegetable or lamb and coriander. Lancashire vs. Yorkshire chef-off? That sounds like a FOOD FIGHT to us. Thankfully, the Northern Sole Food Co. chefs' energies are going into the food on Sunday, with a three-course Northern Winter Warmers lunch at the Clerkenwell Kitchen. On the menu is mini Yorkshires with soft cheese and pickled winter veg followed by battered cod cheek with chips and pickled quail's egg, then braised pork belly with black pudding crumble. For dessert, they're rustling up sticky toffee Parkin with condensed milk ice-cream, rounded off with that all important brew. Tickets cost £29 from here, and the lunch runs 1-4pm. It's also BYOB - bring your own Boddington's. Lolz.
