How does an Italian Christmas feast sound? Pretty ace, right? Assia from My Home In Umbria is taking her successful Italian supperclub and bringing it to the festive Holy Redeemer hall in Exmouth Market. On the decadent menu is Spumante, timballo with Porcini mushrooms, suckling pig, plus stuffed Pandoro with surprise liqueurs. If this is how the festive season starts, long may it continue. Tickets cost £33 from here and it all starts at 7pm.
We've a feeling South America food is going to kick off in London in a big way next year. We're already all over places like Arepa & Co, and on Saturday there's the chance to taste some Columbian delights from Mama Grande's supperclub at L'Atelier Dalston. To start, there's some chicharrones and a ceviche shot, followed by pork shoulder tacos and prawn croquetas peanut chilli sauce. Then there's a couple of options on their feast, including Cazuela de mariscos (fish and seafood stew with coconut milk), lomo al trapo (beef tenderloin covered in salt and cloth and roasted in embers) or posta de cerdo Cartagenero con cremoso de yuca (sugar cane glazed roasted pork belly). Phew, that's certainly an introduction to the region's delicacies. Tickets cost £35 from here.
It's your last chance to catch Farmer Tom's Kitchen residency at The Convenience in Clapton on Sunday. On the a la carte menu is buck rarebit, lamb burgers with basil pesto, beef burgers with pickled courgette and strawberry and chilli jam and beetroot and butterbean burgers. And obviously some kick-ass steak too. If you're lucky, you might even get to try some of their dreamy maple pumpkin cheesecake as well. It's free to get it, but make sure you get there before 8.30pm, when they shut down their pop-up for the last time this year.
