It's inevitable; it's the World Cup, so you might as well get some decent food while it's on. Thank Pele for Fat Ronaldo's pop-up bar and football-watching venue with food by Smokey Tails founder and DJ, Seth "Fucking bats! They're everywhere!" Troxler. The starting whistle blows (is that the right footie terminology?) tonight and expect grilled meats and BBQ treats on the menu for the duration of the entire cup. Tickets from a tenner available from here. Check out their Facebook for more details and head down to 347 Old Street on the night.
In another decent food-and-entertainment combo this weekend, indie movie gang Future Shorts are holding a summer screening night that's housed in the Fairground street food venue. Expect a four-course meal that could include smoked sweetcorn and goat's cheese soup, curried crab salad and roast British leg of lamb. And a Grey Goose fizz cocktail too, darlings.
