Stop everything. Stop absolutely anything you're doing right now and know this: tonight there is a pizza speed tasting night. Yep, that's 15 pizzas, cooked for your delectation from either handmade or shop-bought pies and you just have to chew and think about which ones you like the best. Oh, and wash it all down with half a bottle of red wine included in the £26.75 price. It takes place in Hackney from 7.30pm, tickets can be bought from here, while more info on Taste In London, who are hosting the event is here.
Also taking place tonight is the super-swish Monograph's Japanese supper club. As we are technically in still in the midst of summer (tell that to the rain clouds), they're keeping things chilled with cold somen noodles, a classic summer dish of Japan. Also on the menu is tofu with grated ginger, saikyo-miso marinated salmon and watercress salad with sesame dressing. And, always music to our ears, it's BYOB. The Shoreditch venue is revealed when you book from here, it costs £29 and the feasting starts at 7.30pm.
More pizza? Oh, why the hell not. Tonight it's with an Argentinian twist, as Oli the chef (and in-house musician too - handy!) presents a four-course meal starting with homemade antipasti, Fugazzetta (a stuffed focaccia-style pizza), Faina (pizza topped with chickpea flatbread) then pancakes with South America's favourite nectar, dulce de leche. Then it's a right old knees up with live music and that all-important half bottle of wine included in the price (a suggested donation of £25, BTW). The fun starts at 8pm in Shoreditch, get tickets from here and perve over past pictures of The Argentinian Supper Club here.
