Tonight could well be a night that goes down in history. Thursday January 15 2015 will henceforth be known as 'The Night of a Thousand Wings' because Wingman are having their launch party at the Star by Hackney Downs and are giving away 1000 Korean-style chicken wings, free. No, we're not joking. Get down there, quick, quick! Starts at 6pm and the guys promise it's going to be a hot, crispy riot. More deets here.
Alternatively, this weekend sees the perfect supperclub to boost your zen. Now we're a good three weeks away from the never-ending carnival of roasted meats, goose-fat heavy carbs and tins of Quality Street, it's time to appreciate the lighter, delicate things in life, and Monograph's ever-excellent Japanese fare is the way forward. They're celebrating the Sanuki Udon noodles on Friday, which will be served with pork belly and curly kale, as well as spinach with sesame dressing, yuzu and shrimp clear soup and saikyo-miso marinated salmon. Just so fresh and clean. Takes place in Shoreditch and £29 tickets available from here.
If that annoying blog Women Who Eat On Tubes pissed you off, here's the chance to laugh in the face of it and enjoy a five-course tasting menu in a decommissioned 1967 Victoria Line carriage, now housed in the Walthamstow Pumphouse Transport Museum. The Basement Gallery and The Underground Supperclub will be presenting a high-end, silver service British and French fusion menu on the night and while tickets for the two options (£41.65 or £114.04 for a private carriage) have sold out, we'd recommend getting on the waitlist as this really is an extraordinary dining experience.
