It's still (officially) National Chip Week, so (as if you needed any excuse) we'd recommend getting your fish 'n' chips fix at the new Sutton and Sons pop-up, which opened up earlier this week in Boxpark. There's flaky, juicy fish encased in a perfect batter, or if you're feeling fancy (it's FRIDAY after all) go all out on their lobster roll - big chunks of fragrant lobster with a creamy sauce cased in a sweet brioche roll. Don't skimp on the chips - they're the best we've had since we were last at the seaside. It's open from midday to 10pm tonight, tomorrow and until 9pm on Sunday. It's also hanging around for six months - so plenty of time to head down there. More deets here.
Elsewhere, it's all about that Italo-American meal that the Italian Supper Club are cooking up. Which means a night laden with spaghetti, meatballs and red wine - basically, the dream Friday night. The gang have been hosting their supperclub for four years now, and there's many reasons why they've become a firm favourite on the scene - and the food is one of them. Tickets for tonight's event cost £35 from here and the fun starts from 7pm on Darnley Road.
Rajiv's Kitchen will be transporting dinner guests to Nepal, via his delicious cooking on Saturday night. The regular pop-up dinner has moved location from Clapton to The Arch in Bethnal Green and on the menu tonight are chicken momos, a spicy Nepalese goat curry, sticky lamb ribs, potato and yoghurt salad, veggie curry, pickles and much more. Be prepared to leave very full. Tickets cost £30 from here and the feasting begins at 7.30pm.
