Popping up: 19 - 22nd March

The Victoria Pub on Queensbridge Road is celebrating its relaunch tonight (it's been taken over by the guys behind DreamBagsJaguarShoes) and to say "hi" to the neighbourhood, there will be a selection of complimentary food and drinks from 7pm tonight. Then, on the 26th March, their resident chefs, Psychic Burger, will move in to the kitchens and they're also throwing a party that night with some free burgers too. Now that is a nice welcome.

Yeah, the weather's getting a little nicer, but easy,  it's not quite "tapps off" time yet. Spicing up this weekend with a little more heat will be the Caribbean Supper Club by Headway East London, in an art studio by Regent's Canal. On the menu, some warm Jamaican patties and rum punch to start (niiiice), seabass ceviche with avocado salsa, jerk chicken with black bean and quinoa salad and tropical fruit meringues to finish. Tickets cost £36 from here, and it all starts at 6pm.

It seems like no good man (or woman) will be in want of a free burger this weekend, as the Sebright Arms are also celebrating their new hands in the kitchen, Bunsmiths. For the launch weekend, they're going to be giving away 400 free burgers on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm, when you buy a drink at the bar. Word on the street is these guys are gooood with their meat - with an emphasis on dry rubs and marinades, then cooked low and slow for 12 hours with special smoking ovens imported from America. We hear there's also plans for another bigger, standalone Bunsmiths restaurant in the area coming soon, too. More details here.

If, after all that meat, you're feeling a little stodgy, well we know the woman and the supperclub to help you feel so fresh and so clean again. Nutritionist to the stars (yes that's a real job) Madeleine Shaw will be taking over The Hoxton with her one-off Get The Glow dinner. Making you shine from the inside out, the menu includes halloumi salad with kale and strawberry vinaigrette, Thai beef salad, Mexican grilled corn and quinoa salad with chilli salad. And it wouldn't be cool unless there was a raw dish in there - so for dessert, there's raw lemon cheesecake. Tickets cost £35 from here and the dining starts at 6pm.
