Japanese soul food sounds good, right? Well Masterchef winner and Nanban man Tim Anderson is headed to United Ramen this weekend and next weekend for a collaboration that shows off some of the best dishes in his new cook book. On the walk-in menu from Friday is mackerel scotch egg and Nagasaki chanpon ramen and other tasty Japanese-fusion delights, and there's also a couple of supperclubs happening on Tuesday 21st (Japanese-French themed) and 28th (Japanese-Caribbean). Tickets for the supperclubs cost £30 and are available from here


Or you can jig on over to Hackney Wick, where Dram & Smoke are beginning a five-week Scottish residency (until May 17th) in a former sofa factory for some "scran and a bevvy". For £40, you're treated to a five-course meal that includes Cullen Skink mousse, smokin' onion broth, potted duck with marmalade dressing, then the centrepiece is a big, salt-baked shoulder of lamb to share. There's also a complimentary cocktail included too. Tickets are available here, but you can also just drop by for drinks rather than a whole meal if you fancy, too. 



The Disappearing Dining Club has joined forces with Woodford Reserve and is hosting two Americana-themed events called The Old Fashioned Supper Club this weekend. Expect dishes like orange and beetroot cured salmon (which actually sounds more Scandi to us), followed by bourbon-glazed Kentucky short ribs all washed down with "re-fashioned Old Fashioned", by Rich Woods from Duck & Waffle, Joshua Reynolds of Hawksmoor and Dorian Meillan of Discount Suit Company. The event takes place on Friday and Saturday, costs £45 from here and kicks off at 7pm in Hoxton.
