Sick of #avocadoontoast, pancakes and flat whites? It's definitely worth giving HER cafe in Haggerston a visit then, as they've got a pop-up Thai brunch thing going on all weekend. Think soft boiled eggs with soy sauce, rice congee, or grilled Northern Thai sausage with green chilli aubergine relish. Time to step out of your comfort zone, people. Dishes cost from £3-8 each and they are serving up from 9am-4pm both days. Check out the menu here.
There's a very exotic-sounding evening taking place upstairs at Palm 2 on Saturday: a Soviet-Georgian and Persian-Armenian themed event. Cinema dining masters KinoVino are hosting the Flavours of the Pomegranate event, in which an art-house film by Sergei Paradjanov will be screened and then you'll feast on a suitably decadent dinner. While there's no exact menu available, it still sounds pretty special. Tickets cost £32 from here and it starts at 6pm.
The Berlin Bottomless Brünch returns, and this time it's popping up at London Field's newest rooftop hangout, Playground and Proof°. It's an uber-buffet of all sorts of fancy fare; German meats and cheese, topless eggs with remoulade, unlimited sourdough bread from E5 Bakehouse, fresh buckwheat waffles, amaranth and chia granola...you get the idea. Load up and keep going back for more until you're stuffed. Tickets cost £24 from here and the breakfast feasting starts at 11.30am.
